A
Photovolaic Solar Energy System is a system that collects the sun’s
energy to form an electric current. This allows your property to
receive its energy from the sun’s rays through solar panels.
The solar panels may be installed on the property’s roof,
mounted on the ground next to your property, or even integrated
into your property’s features such as window shades, balconies,
car ports and other interesting aesthetic concepts. The system collects
energy from the sun throughout the day and puts it into use for
all your property’s electricity needs. Example: After a month,
you have collected more energy than you’ve used. The surplus
energy is sent directly to the grid and the property owner builds
credit from the electricity company.
Solar
energy is a type of renewable energy. Unfortunately, our ozone layer
is polluted by many things, one of the main pollutants being carbon
dioxide. It is estimated that every kilowatt of installed solar
generation prevents 14,000 pounds of carbon dioxide (associated
with global warming). In total, worldwide PV installations today
avoid roughly 8 million metric tons of CO2 emissions per
year into the atmosphere. More than 90% of greenhouse gas emissions
come from the combustion of fossil fuels (http://www.epa.gov/globalwarming).
